TERM DATES 2025: (4pm-5:15pm) Term 2: 8 May – 5 June | Term 3: 7 August – 4 September | Term 4: 20 October – 27 September
Our Teen Grief Support Program is a gentle and supportive space where young people can learn to navigate life’s big changes with strength, understanding, and hope.
This psycho-educational program is based on William Worden’s Tasks of Mourning, which guide us through grief as a natural part of life. It’s not therapy, and we don’t ask participants to share the details of their personal stories unless they choose to. No transcripts or records are kept, just safe, compassionate support.
Each week, teens will learn about grief and resilience through hands-on, creative activities. Together we explore inner life skills – like managing emotions, calming the mind, and building hope – through art, guided meditation, visualisation, and storytelling. These tools help young people understand what they’re feeling and discover their own inner strength as they begin to heal.
Because at the heart of it, we all want our young people to feel seen, validated, supported, and more equipped to face the future and any further changes with hope and resilience.
While teens are taking part, parents and caregivers are warmly encouraged to join our concurrent Parent’s Program. This supportive group walks through the same themes and offers a space to reflect, connect with others, and learn how to best support your teen and yourself during the family’s grief journey.

OUTER WORK
(self-expression)
Five weeks of creative expression utilising improvisation, voice, body and movement exercises, yoga poses, storytelling and culminating in an original group-devised performance.
INNER WORK
(education, tools and practices)
Five weeks of grief education, workbook exercises, individual journaling, self-enquiry, meditation, mindfulness and access to various tools, strategies and practices.

Registration Process
If you wish for your teen to take part in our Teens Grief Support Program, please register via our online booking system. Once registered, one of our team will get in touch and talk it over with you before finalising your placement.
Please be aware that due to working within a small group setting, availability may be limited. Once you are offered a placement, we ask that you commit for the full duration of the program. If you think you will not be able to complete the program, please advise us so we can support another family. If all places are filled, you will go on our wait list for our next available intake.
The Teens Grief Support Program is delivered at no cost to you. If you wish to make a donation in support of our ongoing work, please use the ‘Pay what you want’ option upon booking.
If you would like more information, email us at team@paradisekids.au

The Paradise Kids programs and resources are based on psycho-education, it differs from therapy as we do not keep any transcripts or records of participants work for analysis. Our focus is on educating the individual so they may gain greater understanding and the development of life skills that they can assimilate and call upon when dealing with future experiences of change. We have access to experienced counsellors and psychologists on their team for referral, should the need arise.
